Bowley Scout Camp and Activity Centre is situated at the gateway to the North Ribble Valley and Pennine Moors. It is also within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales, Fylde Coast and Lakeland Hills. The centre occupies an area of 47 acres of rolling meadowland bounded by woodland and the River Calder offering visitors magnificent views of Pendle and the surrounding countryside. Easily reached by road with rail links to the nearby towns of Blackburn and Accrington. Established over 35 years ago as a training base for members of the Scout and Guide movements, it has provided specialist outdoor skills training to hundreds of young people and adult leaders. Bowley Scout Camp and Activity Centre does not confine its facilities to those within the Scout movement but acts as a host to schools and colleges using it as a venue for weekday and weekend courses. These offer a challenging outdoor experience stretching young people's minds by combining healthy pursuits with character building and an appreciation of teamwork.
