A low-cost camping barn in the heart of the Ribble Valley, close to Bashall Eaves, Sandal Holme Barn has been refurbished with the addition of a new wooden sleeping platform, and new entrance doors. Situated directly in the heart of the Forest of Bowland, Sandal Holme Barn is a great place to get away from everything, or try out some amazing adventurous activities in the area. Often described as a “stone tent”, you will need to bring some equipment with you. Facilities are fairly basic, comprising of a kitchen area with cooker, microwave and hot water, as well as an integrated wooden sleeping platform, tables and chairs. Flush toilets, parking for three vehicles and a cold water supply complete the facilities available at Sandal Holme. Currently, no heating is provided at Sandal Holme Barn.
Duke of Edinburgh’s expeditions can be completed in the area in conjuction with the use of YHA barns, Bowley Scout Camp and Activity Centre, Waddow Hall Guide Camp and Waddecar Scout Camp. We are happy to accommodate requests for the sole use of Sandal Holme by groups. Young people under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by an adult. The barn is also an excellent location for school and college field trips and study groups.
